TL;DR: We don't sell your data. We only collect what's needed to make the app work. Images are processed and immediately discarded — we don't store your photos.
1. Information We Collect
Roasty collects minimal data to provide our roast and compliment generation service:
- Screen captures: When you tap the Roasty button, we capture the current screen to generate a response. This image is sent to our secure servers, processed, and immediately discarded. We do not store your images.
- Device identifier: A hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your device ID is used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. This cannot be reversed to identify you personally.
- Usage data: Anonymous analytics about app usage (features used, crash reports) to improve the app. No personally identifiable information.
- Subscription data: If you subscribe to Roasty Premium, payment processing is handled by Google Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate witty responses based on screen content
- To manage your subscription status
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
- To display relevant ads (free tier only)
3. Third-Party Services
Roasty uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob: Displays ads for free users. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase: Analytics and crash reporting. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
- Images: Processed immediately and not stored
- Analytics: Retained for up to 14 months
- Subscription data: Retained while your account is active
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of any data we hold about you
- Opt out of analytics (disable in app settings)
- Cancel your subscription at any time via Google Play
6. Children's Privacy
Roasty is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
